Dr. Hsin-Ming Chen earned his PhD from School of Dentistry at National Taiwan University. He is doubly specialized in Special Needs Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor at School of Dentistry of National Taiwan University and as a Visiting Staff at Department of Dentistry of National Taiwan University Hospital. His academic interests include oral health care for people with special needs, dental implantology, oral oncology, dental public health, and dysphagia in individuals with special needs or post-operative oral cancer patients. His research publications are primarily focused on two areas: the molecular mechanisms of cryotherapy and photodynamic therapy in treating oral potentially malignant disorders and oral cancer, and the impact of deep touch pressure in using a papoose board. Dr. Chen is actively involved in international affairs; he has previously assisted in establishing the first oral health care center for people with special needs in Nepal and is the elected President of the 4th Asia Association for Disability and Oral Health.
